A Little About Us....

Chris and Elliott Stiasny

Elliott and I met while I was still in high school. It was practically love at first site! In 1986, we were married and we moved to beautiful San Diego. We have been here ever since!

We have been blessed with 3 wonderful children, two sons and a daughter. It is hard to believe that they are so grown up now...and it is nice to have them all at home!

A Little about our children...

Greg Stiasny

This is Greg our youngest son. He is the one I run to with all my computer questions! He can also be found at the shop helping out. And yes he has even started his own quilt!

Rebekah Stiasny

This is Rebekah, our only daughter. She has recently moved out of San Diego is now working at a quilt shop in Yuma...what can I say it is in her blood!

Joe Stiasny

This is Joe our oldest son. Occasionally you will see him at the shop, but is usually working at his full time job!

A little about our family pets....

This is Snickers, our pound puppy. She is wonderful with the family and a great watchdog...

This is Shasta, our other pound puppy. She is the sweet cuddly one that will lick you to death.

Unfortunately, no cats for us...Elliott 's and Greg's allergies just can't take them....

Chandra Lichtenthaler

Chandra works at the shop several days a week and loves the unusual! She loves traditional piecing, paper piecing, applique and embelishments! She is always on the look out for new and exciting things and is always eager to share her new techniques.

Lori McManus

Lori enjoys traditional projects. She favors the 1930's prints and loves to work with scrappy projects! She also has several quilts around the shop. Lori is just a fun teacher and students just love her easy going attitude. She brings a lot of enthusiasm to the shop!

Lori only works at our shop on Sundays generally and that is only because she has a full time job! She enjoys traditional piecing with lots of softer florals and prints. It is great to have her at our shop!

Greg Stiasny

Although Greg works mainly behind the scenes, he is a tremendous help at the shop. He is a polite young man, who doesn't hesitate to help whether it is a customer or a fellow employee. He also happens to be my son, and it is wonderful to see him in this new light!

I am the shop owner and now a teacher. I like a variety of projects, but most often work with pieced projects. I enjoy simple projects as well as challenging projects ... and projects big and small. In addition, I enjoy other techniques like fusible appliqué. Like most quilters, I just can't seem to get enough of quilting!
